Swap Meet
Swap Meet - Buyer information
Swap meet will run 10-4pm Monday 3rd June only.
SHO volunteers and organisers accept no responsibility for goods purchased as we are not a second hand retailer, no guarantee is given. We are acting purely as a representative of the seller.
Cash, debit and credit cards accepted (but cash is preferred).
Swap Meet - Seller information
The purpose of the swap meet is so that items that maybe aren't seeing the love they deserve can find a new loving home. Unlike 'Bitz nights' where everyone has to man their own table we are taking some of the work out of it for you. We have two amazing volunteers who are going to handle the process so you can still be free to enjoy the event.
Please be aware that SHO staff are not acting as a second hand retailer, our volunteers are running the stall on the sellers behalf.
Swap Meet - Seller information - General overview
The process has 3 parts
1 - Bring your individually packaged lots clearly marked with your name, lot number and the price including 10% commission to the swap meet tables between 8am and 10am on Monday 3rd June and register your items.
2 - Enjoy your day
3 - Return between 6pm and 7pm to collect your items and your money.
Please be aware that SHO staff are not acting as a second hand retailer, our volunteers are running the stall on the sellers behalf.
Swap Meet - Seller information - The commission
A 10% commission on all items sold will be charged. This covers any EFTPOS fees that may occur for Credit and Debit sales (unfortunately cheque and savings can not be used with the facilities we have available), the table hire fees and any electricity charges. The 10% is to cover costs.
Unlike GST this is not 10% added to the price, the final price includes the 10% so you receive 90% of the sale price, this makes it nice and simple for everyone involved. A $10 sale sees $9 go to the seller and $1 go towards the table hire costs etc.
The Sellers FORM is not designed to be intimidating, you only need to look at the blue section and give us your name, lot numbers and prices. If you fill this in prior to the swap meet it makes the event run smoother, however forms will be available at the Swap Meet for those of you who don't have the means to fill it in before.
Swap Meet - Seller information - FAQ
Do I have to attend SHO to put items in the swap meet.
Yes you do.
The form only has 15 lots listed, what if I want to sell more than 15 lots?
Download a second form, cross out the numbers listed and renumber them 16-30 etc. There is no limit on the number you can sell.
Can I drop off items early (i.e. the day before).
We can not guarantee the safety of items if they are left over night.
I can't get there before 10am, can I drop my items off later?
In an ideal world all items will be at the swap meet by 10am, however we will accept late items.
Is there a restriction on what I can sell?
Yes and no. It needs to be restricted to in person gaming related and it needs to be legal, moral and ethical. I.e. if you use it in table top war gaming, RPG or board gaming and there are no legal reasons preventing you from selling the item (i.e you must OWN the item you are selling or have permission from the owner) you can bring it to the swap meet.
